Color Myst Attache FAQ

ColorMyst Airbrush Compressor FAQ

Q. What is the purpose of the two pressure gauges on the ColorMyst Attache’ Compressor?

A. The ColorMyst has an air tank pressure gauge and a pressure gauge on the pressure regulator. The ColorMyst also has a pressure switch that has a preset pressure limit. Once the compressor has pressurized the tank to this limit, the pressure switch signals the compressor to automatically shut-off. As you use air, the pressure will drop and the compressor will turn back on automatically and replenish the air supply. The pressure gauge on the air tank is basically for informational purposes.

The pressure gauge that you need to be most concerned with is the gauge on the pressure regulator. When you have the trigger on your airbrush in the off position, the 'static' pressure will build up above your desired setting. To establish your desired setting, pull the airbrush trigger all the way back, then lift the pressure regulator knob and turn until your desired pressure setting is displayed on the pressure regulator gauge. Lock this setting in by pushing down on the knob.

In general, the pressure on the tank gauge will be higher than the pressure on the pressure regulator gauge. Its upper pressure limit is determined by the pressure switch. But don't be too concerned with the pressure on the tank gauge.
