Iwata G6 Spray Gun Maintenance

Disassembly

For routine cleaning, keep an airbrush bottle with cleaning solution or water on hand. When you finish spraying, just swap the solution bottle for the cleaning bottle and spray into a container or sink until the spray is clear. On occasion, you may notice that the routine cleaning does not restore optimal performance to your spray gun. If so, the following steps are required.

Needed:
You will need a wrench to remove the nozzle. An adjustable wrench or a 9/16 wrench will do.

1. Remove any attached airbrush bottle and unscrew the wing nut on the bottle adapter. You should not need to remove the fluid cup joint.

2. Remove the fluid adjusting knob by rotating counter-clockwise until it pops out. Then remove the needle spring.

3. Remove the needle spring.

4. Remove the needle.

5. Remove the air cap by unscrewing the air cap cover ring.

6. Using the wrench specified above, untighten the nozzle, then remove the nozzle by hand.

The airbrush is now ready for cleaning. Soak the needle and nozzle in airbrush cleaner if needed. Clean out the fluid cup joint opening and the front of the airbrush.

Re-Assembly

1. Screw on the nozzle by hand and make it snug with a wrench. Do not overtighten.

2. Attach the air cap and air cap cover ring.

3. Insert the needle.

4. Insert the needle spring.

5. Attach the fluid adjusting knob.

6. Insert the tapered end of the bottle joint adapter into the fluid cup joint. Secure the bottle joint adapter with the wing nut. Before tightening, point the opening that receives the bottle downwards.

Your airbrush is now reassembled and ready for use.
