The Salon Series
The Salon Series of kits are based around the Iwata brand of compressors and airbrushes - "the Mercedes Brand" of airbrush equipment. Despite the premium brand, you'll find these Tanning Store kits a bit more competitive and cheaper than offerings from competing sites selling less reputable goods. These kits are configured based on the more demanding needs of the salon setting. Therefore, each compressor in this series is a piston compressor with ultra-quiet operation.

High Performance (High Volume Low Pressure) Spray Tanning Systems
You may have heard of HVLP systems that are finding their way into the airbrush tanning market. Their standard advantage is a reduced spraying time applying solution to the client. Reduced application time means a faster turnaround and the ability to handle more clients in a quicker amount of time, which is especially needed in the busy season of tanning. The Tanning Store provides two solutions for high volume client salons.
First, there are airbrush alternatives to HVLP. Using a high-volume pistol grip airbrush can change a typical 2" or less pattern from a normal airbrush to a 3-5" pattern, resulting in less application time. The TurboAir Turbo Speed Pistol Grip Airbrush is nearly twice as fast as the average tanning airbrush because of its larger spray pattern. The Paasche Quick Application Spray Gun and the premium Iwata Eclipse G6 can also match the HVLP advantage in quick application time while maintaining a quiet operating environment. With any of these choices, you still have the flexibility of still using an airbrush for fine touch-up issues or other cosmetic applications such as makeup, nails and temporary tattoos.

High Performance (High Volume Low Pressure) Spray Tanning Systems
In addition to teh High Performance Airbrush Series of kits listed above, The Tanning Store also offers HVLP Spray Tanning Systems. HVLP systems come in two classes, Turbine Systems and HVLP Coversion Systems, which are briefly detailed here.
HVLP Turbine Systems are driven by turbine motors (essentially vacuum cleaner-type motors) rather than compressors. HVLP Conversion Systems have historically required larger compressors and have not been used in spray tanning. However, recent advances in gun design have enabled the development of HVLP Spray Guns that require as little as 1.8 cfm (cubic feet per minute) and compressors in the 3/4 hp range.
A high volume of air is used to atomize the spray at a very low pressure, usually well under 10 psi, resulting in less overspray and bounceback. Excellent atomization and a wide spray pattern reduces application time without sacrificing tanning quality. First generation HVLP tanning systems tend to be quite loud, similar to a shop vacuum cleaner, and thus was not favored by those working in a salon or other quiet environment. They were also overpowered for the application use, employing too many turbine stages or using too large of a hose or nozzle. However, we carry the HVLP alternatives to noisy, overpowering, impractable systems.
The UltraMyst 3G derives from HVLP conversion technology and has many advantages for spray tanning. It even lies in the LVLP (Low Volume Low Pressure) subset of HVLP and has the softest spray with the least amount of overspray and material usage. The Accuspray HVLP Turbine Unit and the Fuji Ultra Quiet HVLP Tan Salon shown below are quiet and use needles and nozzles more appropriate to spray tanning. More information about each system is continued independently below.

The TNR (Tuned Noise Reduction) series turbines the Accuspray uses create only about 70 decibels that easily dissipate into low background noise.
